COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican cross country season rolls on with the Panthers heading to Tiffin, Ohio, to participate in the Tiffelberg Invitational on Friday afternoon.
The event marks ODU's second appearance of the season and first of two competitions of the campus of Tiffin University. The Black and Gold return to Tiffin on October 24 to compete in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Cross-Country Championships.
ODU last competed in the Cedarville Open on October 7th at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course on the campus of Cedarville University.
It was a great debut race for Jaclyn Strawn and her sister Jeralyn Strawn. The first-year runners finished in consecutive order with Jaclyn collecting a time of 20:59.6 and sister Jeralyn finishing with a time of 21:00.4 during their first collegiate event.
On the men's side sophomore Caleb Belmont (Carroll, Ohio) started his season off in the 8K finishing with a time of 28:02.4 last Saturday. Teammate and senior Keaton McNair (Pickerington, Ohio) finished just behind Belmont with a time of 28:30.7.
Junior Sean Noll (Sheridan, Ohio) finished 17 seconds behind McNair with a time of 28:47.5 during the season kick-off event.
The Panther women begin the day with the opening race beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panther men follow when their race begins at 5:15 p.m.
