Volleyball Suffers Setback to Urbana

URBANA, Ohio -- The Ohio Dominican volleyball team went on the road Tuesday evening to face non-conference rival Urbana, but fell to the Blue Knights, 3-0. 
The Panthers (3-24) led early in the first set, 5-3, but Urbana (15-10) closed the frame on a 10-5 run to win 25-17. ODU never led in the final two frames, conceding scores of 25-13 and 25-19. 
The Blue Knights used a .206-.021 hitting advantage to take the match in three sets. Urbana also enjoyed a 9-1 edge in service aces. 
Sophomore Amanda Remmetter (Springfield, Ohio) led the team with eight kills and added nine digs defensively. Classmate Abbi Gillson (Canton, Ohio) pitched in with six kills and a team-best 3 blocks. Senior Allie Rutter (Fostoria, Ohio) registered 11 digs and was a perfect 10-for-10 in receptions. The duo of sophomore Zoë Carmichael (Wooster, Ohio) and freshman Carleigh Deitsch (St. Henry, Ohio) combined for 16 assists. 
The Panthers will continue their stretch of non-conference play this week with a home contest against Notre Dame (Ohio). First serve is set for 6 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8.
