COLUMBUS, Ohio – After three consecutive matches at home, the Ohio Dominican volleyball will travel to West Virginia for three matches this weekend.

The Panthers trip to the Mountain State is highlighted by Great Midwest Athletic Conference matches at Alderson Broaddus and Ohio Valley.  The Black & Gold open the stretch at 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11, at Alderson Broaddus. Saturday will feature a doubleheader at Ohio Valley, beginning with a noon match against the host Fighting Scots, followed by a 2:30 p.m. contest versus Bluefield State (W. Va.).

Sophomore Amanda Remmetter (Springfield, Ohio) has posted double-digit kills in four of the past six outings. Remmetter also has 10 or more digs in five of the last six appearances. The sophomore is among the top three on the squad in kills (2.88), digs (2.39) and blocks (0.46) per set.

Classmate Abbi Gillson (Canton, Ohio) has paced the Panthers in kills the past two outings, including Tuesday night against nationally-ranked Wheeling. Over the past three matches, Gillson is averaging 3.7 kills per set, raising her season average to 2.1. The sophomore also leads the team with 43 blocks, 0.73 per set.

Defensively, senior Allie Rutter (Fostoria, Ohio) has recorded double-digit digs in 12 of 16 matches this fall. Rutter has a team-high 206 digs this season and her 3.6 per set. The senior led the team with 11 digs against Wheeling.

Alderson Broaddus enters Friday 8-10 overall and 0-4 in the G-MAC. The Battlers are 3-2 at home this fall. ODU is 3-2 all-time against AB, but lost last season's contest, 3-2.

Ohio Valley is also 0-4 in the G-MAC and is 5-7 overall. The Fighting Scots are still looking for their first win at home this fall, currently sitting at 0-2. After winning the first two meetings against OVU, the Panthers have dropped back-to-back contests, including in 2018 by a score of 3-0.

Bluefield State is 0-14 this season and is coming off losses to Alice Lloyd and Johnson & Wales last weekend. Saturday's meeting will be the first between ODU and the Big Blues.
