COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's soccer team welcomed Malone University in their home opener on Wednesday evening. After 90 minutes of play, the Pioneers and the Panthers drew 1-1.

Malone opened the scoring early in the first half with a solo goal from Brynn Mowrer in the 5th minute. The Pioneers registered shots from Anna Schmeltzer in the 9th and the 25th-minute making goalkeeper Jadelyn McNerney (Springboro, Ohio) collect two of her six saves.

With the half winding down, Emily Wittekind (Cincinnati, Ohio) fired off a shot but missed wide right.

Callan Myers (Hillsboro, Ohio) started the second half with a shot to the bottom right of the goal. Malone was there for the team save.

The Panthers outshot the Pioneers 12-4 in the second half. In the 70th minute, freshman Nyah Daniels (Norwalk, Ohio) connected with teammate Myers to score her first career goal, tying the game 1-all.

Senior Morgan Kirk (Findlay, Ohio) made a last-ditch effort to grab the win for the Black and Gold but Malone keeper Kassidy Cannon was there for the save. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
