TIFFIN, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's golf team ended its fall season on Sunday afternoon at the Tiffin University Fall Invitational at Mohawk Golf & Country Club in Tiffin, Ohio.
ODU came into the second round of the competition after an opening round of 346 and sitting in seventh. The Panthers improved their second-round score to 338, finishing with a tournament score of 684 and finishing in eighth place out of 14 teams.
It was another strong day for senior Bailey Krueger (Canal Winchester, Ohio) who finished the day tied for 13th place after shooting a second-round 80. She finished tied for third place in birdies with four for the tournament. Krueger also tied for fourth place in scoring on par-5 holes, shooting even par (5.00).
Freshman Shannan Ireland (New Albany, Ohio) enjoyed a six-stroke improvement during her second round. After a first-round in which she shot an 88, the freshman finished the tournament shooting an 82 during the final round.
Another Panther experienced an improved performance during the second round. Sophomore Alyssa Newsom (Granville, Ohio) enjoyed an eight-stroke improvement, shooting an 82 during the final round. She also tied for eighth place in par-4 scoring.
Freshman Abbey Dillon (Bolivar, Ohio) finished the tournament shooting a 94 and was second on the team in birdies.
The hosts Tiffin University split the team championship with the University of Findlay as both clubs shot a combined score of 623. Walsh University finished in third place shooting 641.
