Panthers Are Back In Columbus To Host Arrows And Cavaliers

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's basketball team settle in on Sunbury Road to welcome the Arrows of Ursuline on Thursday and the Cavaliers of Walsh on Saturday.

The Black and Gold have moved to 5-11 on the season and sit at 2-7 in the G-MAC. Walsh University hosted Ohio Dominican for the conference opener on Dec. 1, where the Maroon and Gold came out on top, 66-41. Two days later, Ursuline College welcomed the Panthers and came out victorious, 65-54, on their home court.

Opening Tip-Off

  • Junior Gabby Stare (Newark, Ohio) continues to put up double-figure points with a 25 point and 13 point performance over the weekend. The guard added a combined nine rebounds and five steals.
    • Stare has recorded double-figures in 14 of the 15 games she has appeared in.
  • Freshman point guard, Sarah Ochs (Beavercreek, Ohio) dished out seven total assists, scored 16 points, and grabbed six boards over the weekend. Ochs averages 1.4 assists per game with a season total of 22 thus far.
  • Macy Chapman (Hilliard, Ohio) netted 12 points against the Yellow Jackets and led the team with three steals. The Hilliard native went a perfect 7-7 from the charity stripe in the two contests.
  • Guards Kayla McClendon (Columbus, Ohio) and Camryn Pickerill (Seaman, Ohio) continue to be threats behind the arc. Over the past two games, McClendon went 5-10 from downtown, equating 15 points with Pickerill going 4-6, adding 12 points.
  • The Black and Gold are shooting 43.1 percent from the field and 39.3 percent from behind the arc.
  • In the last contest against Ursuline, freshman Logan Pride (Twinsburg, Ohio) collected her first career double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

About Ursuline

  • The Arrows remain in the win column with a 9-8 overall record and a 5-4 G-MAC record, despite being on a two game losing streak.
  • Alyssa Evans leads the way for UC averaging 18.3 ppg, followed by Michaela and Madison Cloonan averaging 11.1 and 10.4 ppg.
  • Michaela Cloonan leads the conference in total steals (43) and steals per game (2.53).

About Walsh

  • The Cavaliers sit at 6-10 overall and 4-5 in the Great Midwest.
  • Super seniors, Lexie Scarton and Morgan McMillen lead the way averaging 11.5 and 17.6 ppg. McMillen collected a double-double against the Panthers in the first meeting (14 points, 10 rebounds).
  • Walsh holds a 1-5 record on the road this season with two road matches ahead of them this week.

Ursuline and Ohio Dominican will tip-off Thursday afternoon at 5:30 pm from Alumni Hall. The Cavaliers and the Panthers are set to start at 1:00 pm on Saturday afternoon.
