Stare Collects 1,000th Career Point To Help Panthers Sweep Greyhounds

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Black and Gold end the year with a win on their home court over the University of Indianapolis, 80-73.

Box Score Notes

  • Junior Gabby Stare (Newark, Ohio) collected 29 points to become the 27th player in program history to surpass 1,000 career points. Stare led with eight rebounds and four steals, adding four assists.
  • Guard Madelyn Fearon (Greenville, Ohio) led the way with five assists. Fearon tallied nine points, going 6-6 from the charity stripe.
  • Macy Chapman (Hilliard, Ohio) and Kayla McClendon (Columbus, Ohio) each notched nine points this afternoon. Chapman snagged four steals.
  • The Black and Gold shot 51.9 percent from the field and 80.8 percent from the free throw line.

How It Happened

  • After Logan Pride (Twinsburg, Ohio) won the jump, the Panthers went on a 13-2 run in the first half of the opening period. Ohio Dominican continued to dominate, ending the first quarter ahead 22-10.
  • UIndy and ODU went bucket-for-bucket to start the second quarter. The Greyhounds ended the period with a 9-2-point swing still trailing 35-31.
  • Indianapolis cut the deficit to three with a pair of free throws from Lake. Ohio Dominican remained with the lead heading into the final 10 minutes, 54-49.
  • With six minutes remaining, the Greyhounds tied the contest 58-all. The Panthers responded with taking back the lead and ending the game on top 80-73.
