SPRINGFIELD, Ohio -- Ohio Dominican track and field continued its momentum this indoor season as several student-athletes once again set personal bests during Saturday's Steemer Showcase at Wittenburg University in Springfield, Ohio.
Freshman Caleb Belmont (Carroll, Ohio) broke his personal best record in the mile for the fourth time this season, earning a top ten finish in the event and finishing with a time of 4:22.96. Teammates Marcus Steele and Draven Bass (Circleville, Ohio) each earned a top-five finish Saturday afternoon. Steele earned his top-five in the 400 meters, finishing with a time personal-best of 50.46 seconds. Bass claimed a personal-best mark in the 800 meters finishing with a time of 1:55.49 seconds.
Jarrett Lynch capitalized off last week's momentum in the pole vault and cleared 3.95 meters en route to another personal best.
Ethan Vandermarliere (Georgetown, Kentucky) earned two quality finishes in the shot put and weight throw. Vandermarliere cleared 11.37 meters in the shot-put and 13.44 meters in the weight throw, both personal bests.
Teammate Ben Cook (Mount Vernon, Ohio) finished in the top-ten in the weight throw, clearing a personal record of 14.72 meters.
Megan Tamasovich (Canal Winchester, Ohio) enjoyed a busy afternoon, finishing in second place in the high jump and earning a top-ten finish in the long jump and the 60-meter hurdles.
Tatianna Ammons had a career day in with the shotput and the weight-throw. The sophomore finished in the top-20 and with personal bests in both events.
Sophomore Ashley Wihi (Williamsport, Ohio) finishes the Steemer Showcase claiming a personal best in the mile. She finished the event with a time of 5.53.55.
The Panthers return to action next weekend in Tiffin, Ohio, to participate in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Indoor Track Championships. The event begins Friday, February 28 and goes through February 29.
