YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Freshman Caleb Belmont (Carroll, Ohio) is second member of Ohio Dominican's track and field team to break a school record in as many weeks. The freshman captured the school record during his top-ten finish in the 3000 meters during Saturday's YSU National Mid-Major Invitational at the Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS) on the campus of Youngstown State University. Belmont's time of 8:45.17 beats the previous record held by Wes Pipher, set in 2017 at 8:57.83.
Alex Botello (Hilliard, Ohio) tied his own school record set last week, clearing 4.30 meters. That mark earned the senior a top-ten finish in the pole vault. Freshman Manny Codjoe earned a personal best in the 60 meters, finishing with a time of 7.34 seconds. He also earned another personal best in the 200 meter dash, finishing with a time of 23.40 seconds.
