COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican Softball All-Decade Team gains three new members as Taylor Farmer (2016-20), Taylor Thomas (2011-15), and Landry Slider (2016-20) occupy the corner infield positions of this distinguished team.
The trio combined for 192 wins, six postseason appearances, one NCAA tournament appearance, and a Great Midwest Athletic Conference championship during their respective tenures on Sunbury Road.
Taylor Farmer enjoyed a very productive career in Black and Gold. During her sophomore campaign, she garnered Second Team All-GMAC honors and G-MAC Academic Honors while appearing in 55-of-56 games. Farmer paced the Panthers with 40 RBIs in 2018 and was third on the team with a .337 batting average. She also started six games on the mound and recorded a 3.44 ERA in 61 innings pitched.
The Mt. Blanchard, Ohio, native followed up her solid sophomore season by earning Second Team All-GMAC honors in 2019. She played in all 54 games, leading the team with 10 home runs. She also enjoyed a slugging percentage of .535 at the plate.
Landry Slider is a name that remains in the minds of ODU softball fans. The Stow, Ohio, native was a First Team All-GMAC award winner and also captured CCA Second Team All-Midwest Region honors. She also led the Panthers in batting average (.369) and led the team with 40 RBIs during her junior season. She also had 65 hits with 13 doubles and four home runs. In addition to her offensive prowess, Slider was versed on defense, allowing a career-low five errors in 2019-20.
Taylor Thomas patrolled the Panther third baseline for four years and made a memorable career in the process. The Bellville, Ohio, native earned GLIAC Honorable Mention honors during her sophomore season as she started and played in all 51 contests. During that season she also finished second on the team with a batting average of .319 and lead the team with 31 RBIs.
Thomas amped-up production in 2014 as she was named the GLIAC Player of the Year, Capital One First-Team Academic All-America Selection, Daktronics First Team All-Midwest Region, and NFCA First Team All-Midwest Region.
She also was selected to the First Team All-GLIAC squad and named to the GLIAC Academic All-Excellence Team. Thomas led ODU in batting average (.386), on-base percentage (.465), slugging percentage (.661), hits (66), doubles (17), home runs (10), and walks (24). She also ranked inside the top-10 in the GLIAC in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, hits, doubles, home runs, walks, and RBI.
