Softball Drops Two In Westfield

WESTFIELD, Ind. – Ohio Dominican's softball team dropped a pair of games to Southern Indiana and Indianapolis on Friday, falling 10-0 to the Screaming Eagles in the opener and 7-3 to the Greyhounds in the nightcap.

ODU managed just two hits in the opener, but trailed just 3-0 heading to the fifth inning before USI broke it open with a four-run frame.

In game two, the Panthers trailed 3-0 heading to the third before putting up a pair of runs. Freshman Erika Case (Holland, Ohio) doubled, sophomore Carson Hackerd (Frankfort, Ind.) singled, and junior Landry Slider (Stow, Ohio) put down a bunt that would bring home Case. Hackerd then came in to score on an Indy error to cut the deficit to 3-2.

However, the Greyhounds scored four times in the bottom of the inning, and the Panthers scored once more in the fifth on Slider's solo shot to left.

Junior Cameron Barber (Powell, Ohio) threw 3.2 innings of two-hit, scoreless relief to lead ODU in the circle.

Ohio Dominican takes on Rockhurst at 11 a.m. Saturday, followed by a 3 p.m. tilt with Bellarmine.
