LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Ohio Dominican junior Taylor Kline (Bellville, Ohio) was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA)/Schutt Sports Division II National Player of the Year watch list, the NFCA announced on Wednesday.
The list encompasses 50 players, with Kline joining Wayne State's Lyndsay Butler as GLIAC representatives on the list. Kline is one of 23 players who earned All-American honors last season to be named to this year's watch list, earning Third Team All-American honors in 2016.
A First Team All-GLIAC selection in 2016, Kline finished her sophomore campaign with a conference-best 41 stolen bases and held a 0.79 stolen bases per game average, good enough to rank 15th in NCAA Division II. Kline also boasted a batting average of .446 and 41 hits to rank second in the GLIAC in both categories.
In her first two years as a Panther, Kline boasts a .438 batting average with 141 hits, 68 stolen bases and has been responsible for 85 Panther runs.
Ohio Dominican begins its 2017 season on Friday, February 17 when it travels to Nashville, Tennessee to take on Indianapolis in the Music City Invitational.
