BAY CITY, Mich. – Ohio Dominican softball player freshman Allie Hinton (Newcomerstown, Ohio) helped the Panthers to a 4-2 record last weekend and has been chosen as the GLIAC Player of the Week.
Hinton was a commanding presence at the plate last week, instrumental in the Panthers going 4-2, including a sweep over then league-leading Grand Valley. Hinton hit .350 (7-for-20) with a .750 slugging percentage. Hinton scored five times, hit two homeruns, drove in seven, and had two doubles. The freshman went 1-for-4, which was her first grand slam of her young career against Northwood, then followed that up with the Panthers only run, after a solo homerun in the 1-0 victory over the Lakers.
On the season, Hinton is hitting .328 with a team-leading 29 RBI.
