Panthers Fall Short In Season Finale

COLUMBUS, Ohio – To conclude the regular season, the Ohio Dominican Men's soccer team hosted Cedarville where the Yellow Jackets were victorious, 2-1.

Freshman Marco Perez (Gilbert, Ariz.) fired off the first shot in the 17th minute. Cedarville responded with a score in the 19th minute. Gabe Byrd connected with Andy Volk to put the Yellow Jackets on top, 1-0.

In the 38th minute, goalkeeper Ethan Kraynak (Worthington, Ohio) collected his first save off a shot from Matthew Leo, leaving CU in the lead 1-0 at the half.

The second half opened with another save from Kraynak before the Yellow Jackets extended their lead to 2-0 in the 51st minute.

Four minutes later, Jack Jenkins (Canal Winchester, Ohio) tried to put the Black and Gold on the board, but CU's keeper was there for the save. In the 75th minute, senior Jack Heyes (New Albany, Ohio) was awarded a free kick, resulting in a goal. Heyes' goal cut the panthers' deficit to 2-1.

The Black and Gold tried to rally late but missed the mark. The panthers dropped the match 2-1.

ODU ended the season with a 3-11-3 record overall and a 3-9-2 mark in the conference.
