Men's Soccer Draw With Conference Newcomer Northwood

MIDLAND, Mich. – The Ohio Dominican men's soccer team headed north on Saturday, Sept. 17 to face off against conference newcomer Northwood. After 90-minutes of play, the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

The Panthers opened the match with back-to-back shots from Brad Leonard (Westerville, Ohio) and Khalif Hassan (Columbus, Ohio) in the 5th minute, but they just missed the mark.

In the 23rd minute, the Timberwolves were awarded a penalty kick. Lucas Hart converted it to open the scoring, 1-0.

Junior Mohamed Sheik (Columbus, Ohio) fired off shots in the 20yh and 36th minutes, forcing Northwood's keeper to collect two saves.

Coming out of the break, the Black and Gold pressured the Timberwolves' defense when Shingai Nindi (Shanghai, China) laced a cross to Hassan to tie up the match 1-all in the 49th minute.

Hart answered with his second goal of the afternoon after connecting with Amedeo Crovasce to regain the lead 2-1 in the 55th minute.

After a foul in the box, ODU was awarded a penalty kick in the 86th minute. Hassan tallied his second goal of the match, tying it up 2-2.

Jacob Gruber (Westerville, Ohio) tried to rally late with a shot in the 89th minute but missed high. The match ended in a 2-2 draw.
