Panthers Move To 2-0 In G-MAC Play

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican men's soccer team returned to conference play welcoming Malone University to Sunbury Road. The Black and Gold won, 1-0.

The Panthers started the match firing off back-to-back shots in the 3rd minute from Brad Leonard (Westerville, Ohio) and Jacob Gruber (Westerville, Ohio). Malone was there to record a team save.

Pioneers' forwards Mason Gradel and Dylan Metz recorded shots late in the first half. Panther's keeper Cory Pulles (Pickerington, Ohio) was forced to collect two of his three saves of the half.

In the 42nd minute Marco Perez (Gilbert, Ariz.) connected with Carter Patchett (Dublin, Ohio) to open the scoring, taking the lead for the Black and Gold 1-0.

Malone gave a last-minute shot before the break; Pulles was there to collect another save.

Mubelele Mhango (Blantyre, Malawi) fired off consecutive shots to open the second half.

It was a defensive second half with the Panthers outshooting the Pioneers 5-2 and 15-5 in the game. Malone had no answer and the Black and Gold took the win, 1-0.

The Panthers head north to take on Northwood with a 12:00 PM kickoff from Midland, Michigan.
