INDIANAPOLIS – Ohio Dominican's men's soccer team is projected sixth totaling 59 points in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Coaches Poll presented by Under Armor as announced by the conference office on Friday.
The Panthers finished fourth in the G-MAC regular season a year ago finishing 8-9-1 overall and 7-6-1 in the G-MAC.
A year ago, the Panthers were fifth in the G-MAC with 30 goals on the season while giving up 1.68 goals per contest.
The Panther men have 20 returners from a year ago led by seniors in defenders Demarco Andrews (Kingston, Jamaica) and Matthew Pardi (Worthington, Ohio) along with forward Cameron Christian (Pataskala, Ohio).
In goal, junior Ian Crook (Cincinnati, Ohio) will lead the backline after stating three games a year ago making four appearances on the year allowing two goals and racking up nine saves. Crook was 2-1 a year ago recording a shutout in a 5-0 win over Kentucky Wesleyan.
Tiffin topped the poll with 98 points while Cedarville followed with 87 and Ohio Valley was third with 79. Lake Erie (72) and Alderson Broaddus (63) rounded out the top five. Trevecca Nazarene followed the Panthers with 52 points while Findlay (33), Walsh (27), Malone (23) and Kentucky Wesleyan rounded out the poll.
ODU begins their season on the road Thursday, Sept. 5 at Bellarmine before their home opener Sunday, Sept. 8 against Mercyhurst at 2 p.m.
