ERIE, Pa. - The Ohio Dominican Panthers men's golf team ended the first day of the Howard "Bud" Elwell Invitational in second place with a chance to move up the leaderboard.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature didn't give the Panthers a chance as weather canceled the final day on action on Monday (Sept. 19).

Ohio Dominican totaled 286 on Sunday (Sept. 18) as they trailed the host Gannon Golden Knights by one stroke. The Panthers finished second as one of two teams to finish under par. Of the five players on the course, four of the Panthers finished within the top ten.

Sophomore Yadhu Urs (Castries, Saint Lucia) bettered his third place last week as he finished as a co-medalist. Urs shot a three-under-69 in the first round.

Graduate student Brett Coughlin (Washington, Illinois) and senior Jacob Brownley (West Chester, Ohio) both finished at even par with a 72. The pair finished in a tie for fourth place.

Freshman Nash Linder (Grove City, Ohio) was one-over-73 in a tenth place tie.

Graduate student Mack Cushman (Mechanicsburg, Ohio) finished with a 77 in the only round of the competition as he was tied for 23rd place.

The Panthers will compete in the Kyle Ryman Invitational on October 3rd and 4th at the Mohawk Golf & Country Club, hosted by Tiffin University.
