OWENSBORO, Ky. — Kentucky Wesleyan defeated Ohio Dominican's men's basketball team by a final score of 78-57 on Saturday at the Owensboro Sportscenter to snap a four-game winning streak for ODU.
Coming off a thrilling 92-85 overtime victory at Trevecca two days ago and a 90-88 double-overtime win over Walsh on Tuesday, Ohio Dominican (12-10, 7-8 G-MAC) shot just 37.3 percent from the field and 20 percent from three-point range in its third game in five days. KWC (14-11, 8-7 G-MAC) forced 19 ODU turnovers and shot 47.4 percent from downtown (9-of-19).
Sophmore forward Hasan Varence (Queens, New York) led Ohio Dominican with 14 points and a career-high 17 rebounds for his third-straight double-double and eighth of the season. Senior Shemar Waugh (Columbus, Ohio) tallied 11 points and three rebounds, while senior Mike DeLeon (Powell, Ohio) pitched in with eight points and four boards.
Ohio Dominican will travel to Cedarville next Saturday, February 10 to face the Yellow Jackets at 7:45 p.m.
