BAY CITY, Mich. – Senior forward Trent Weaver (Columbus, Ohio) became the second player in program history to earn postseason All-GLIAC honors as he was voted to the second team by the league's head coaches.
Weaver joins Morgan Jones (2013) as the lone players to earn all-conference distinctions since ODU joined the GLIAC for the 2010-11 season.
This season, he averaged 15.5 points per game on 52.4 percent shooting and also pulled down 9.5 rebounds per contest. Weaver ranked 12th in the league in scoring, third in rebounding and 14th in field goal percentage. He also made the fifth-most free throws with 121.
In his career, Weaver earned two preseason All-GLIAC awards and picked up a trio of GLIAC South Division Player of the Week honors. He played in 108 games in his career, making 88 starts, and scored 1,261 points on 49.4 percent shooting while grabbing 810 rebounds.
He finishes his career 10th on ODU's all-time scoring list and third on its rebounding list. He also ranks fourth in career free throws made (382).
Weaver has helped the Panthers increase their win total each of the last three years under head coach Dan Evans, finishing the 2015-16 season with a record of 11-17 (8-14 GLIAC), which are the most wins since the team joined the league and Division II.
