BAY CITY, Mich. – After shooting 73.7 percent from the floor, senior Trent Weaver (Columbus, Ohio) was recognized as the GLIAC Men's Basketball South Division Player of the Week on Monday.
Weaver went for 20 points and eight rebounds in just 23 minutes, making 8-of-12 shots from the field, as Ohio Dominican hung close but ultimately fell to No. 18 Ashland 75-68 on Thursday. In ODU's 95-71 win over Lake Erie on Saturday, Weaver scored 17 points made 6-of-7 shots from the field and grabbed 10 rebounds for his 12th double-double of the year.
This is the third time in his career that he has earned GLIAC Player of the Week recognition and first time this season.
Weaver enters Thursday's finale at Tiffin in 11th on ODU's all-time scoring list with 1,244 points. He also ranks third with 794 career rebounds and can become just the third player in school history to pull down 800 rebounds in a career.
Weaver also ranks fourth in school history with 379 made free throws.
Ohio Dominican concludes its season at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Tiffin.
