Williams Earns First Career Player of the Week Award

BAY CITY, Mich. – Sophomore Ronnie Williams (Columbus, OH) has been named GLIAC South Player of the Week for his performance last week.

This is the first player of the week award for Williams, and is the first of the 2015-16 season for the Panthers after receiving two a year ago.

Williams scored at least 18 points in each of the two games for Ohio Dominican last week. He posted a season high 21 points on the road against Notre Dame, as he also added a career high five rebounds and five assists in the contest.

In the 104-69 win over Silver Lake this past Saturday, Williams tallied 18 points in just 18 minutes played. Against the Lakers he also contributed four rebounds and four assists.

For the week, Williams shot 56 percent from the field, which includes a 9-of-18 performance from behind the arc. His 19.5 points per contest ranked highest among those who played for ODU, as he also totaled 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game a week ago.

On the season, Williams leads the GLIAC in three point field goals made with 12. He is currently second on the team in scoring at 16.0 points per game. Williams is now averaging more than 3.0 assists per game, and is grabbing 2.8 rebounds per contest this season.

The Panthers will look to build upon their 3-1 start this weekend when they travel to face St. Joseph's and Illinois-Springfield in the McDonalds Thanksgiving Classic in Rensselaer, Indiana.
