COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican's men's basketball team is currently preparing for a two game road trip. The Panthers will visit a pair of GLIAC rivals at Findlay and Hillsdale.
The Panthers and Oilers tip off at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan 10, while ODU squares off against Hillsdale at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12. This trip is the end of a five-game road trip for the Panthers, who are 1-5 away from Alumni Hall.
Most recently, the Panthers suffered a pair of setbacks, falling 93-57 to Lake Superior and 77-60 at Northwood. ODU shot a combined 36 percent in those two contests.
Scouting the Oilers
An early GLIAC South Division preseason favorite, Findlay comes into Thursday's conference match up with a 9-3 record overall (6-2 GLIAC). 2011-2012 All-GLIAC selection Greg Kahlig leads the Oilers with 14.1 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game, while Brad Piehl is scoring 11.9.
Scouting the Chargers
Another early GLIAC South Division preseason contender Hillsdale, enters Saturday's game with an 8-4 record overall (4-4 GLIAC). Tim Dezelski paces the Charges with 15.1 points per game and 8.4 rebounds. Teammate Nick Washburn averages 12.9 points per game and 7.7 rebounds.
ODU is 3-16 all-time against the Oilers, dropping a pair of games last year. In the 85-67 loss at Findlay, Jones had 11 points, two rebounds and four assists, while Kahlig had 25 for the Oilers.
The Panthers are 0-4 all-time against Hillsdale, including a 74-53 setback last year in Alumni Hall. Jones had four points, three assists and four steals.
