Men’s Hoops Takes on Notre Dame, Tiffin in Final Two Contests

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio Dominican's men's basketball team finishes the 2011-12 season with a non-conference matchup at Notre Dame College on Wednesday before returning home to host Tiffin in Saturday's season-finale.

Prior to Saturday's game, ODU's six seniors – Darrien Douglas (Willard, Ohio), Aaron Gibbs (Oberlin, Ohio), Zak Kapron (Malvern, Ohio), Kip Kelley (Raleigh, N.C.), Jake Mochoskay (Mansfield, Ohio) and John Trew (Barberton, Ohio) – will be recognized.

The Panthers enter the week coming off of a 70-59 setback at GLIAC regular season champ Hillsdale last Thursday. Mochoskay led ODU in scoring for a third-straight game, notching a game-high 18 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field and 6-of-6 from the charity stripe. The forward is averaging 15.7 points on 17-of-33 shooting in last three games.

Kapron also scored in double figures for the Panthers in that contest, finishing with 12 points, and he is averaging 10.3 points per game in his last four games, shooting 60.9 percent (14-of-23) from the field and 86.7 percent (13-of-15) from the free throw line in that span.

Gibbs enters the week needing just six points to reach 1,000 for his career. He's averaged 9.4 points per game in 106 career contests, and he's also matched a career-high with 31 blocked shots this season.

Notre Dame enters Wednesday's contest with a 9-15 record overall, with six of those wins coming at home. Common opponents between the Falcons and Panthers include Salem International (lost, 73-69) and Tiffin (lost, 94-81). Marcquice Taylor leads NDC with 15.5 points and 3.5 assists per game.

Tiffin (14-13, 6-11 GLIAC) notched a pair of non-conference wins last week, defeating Salem International 89-80 and Malone 77-69. The Dragons have won four straight and eight of 11 games.
