PAINESVILLE, Ohio – Senior center Zak Kapron (Malvern, Ohio) had a double-double, but it wasn't enough as Ohio Dominican's men's basketball team fell 75-54 to Lake Erie Saturday in a GLIAC South Division matchup at the Osborne Center.

Kapron finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Panthers, while senior forward Aaron Gibbs (Oberlin, Ohio) also tallied 11 points, three blocks and three steals. Junior guard Morgan Jones (Oberlin, Ohio) finished with five assists and three steals for ODU as well.

Ohio Dominican (3-18, 0-15 GLIAC) grabbed an early lead as Kapron scored seven of ODU's first 10 points and senior guard Darrien Douglas (Willard, Ohio) drilled a triple from the right wing to put the Panthers in front 10-7 at the 13:01 mark. The Panthers went cold after that, though, as ODU did not score again until there was 5:17 to go in the frame, as Lake Erie used a 12-0 run to grab a 19-10 advantage.

Freshman center Bobby Stauffer (Lexington, Ky.) ended the run with a putback on an offensive rebound, but the Storm (8-12, 3-10 GLIAC) would keep the lead in double figures for the rest of the frame and were on top 32-20 at the break.

In the second half, Lake Erie extended its lead to as many as 25 points as the Panthers - who shot 31.3 percent for the game, compared to 49.1 percent for the Storm – could not find enough offense to overcome the deficit.

Ohio Dominican returns to action at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in a GLIAC South Division matchup with Hillsdale in Alumni Hall.
