COLUMBUS, Ohio – Junior guard Morgan Jones (Oberlin, Ohio) scored 20 points and had four steals, but Ohio Dominican's men's basketball team fell 71-57 to visiting Lake Erie in GLIAC action Saturday in Alumni Hall.

Jones knocked down 7-of-12 shots from the field and was a perfect 5-for-5 at the line for his third 20-point effort of the season. Senior guard Darrien Douglas (Willard, Ohio) was the lone other Panther in double figures with 13 points, connecting on 5-of-8 from the field and 3-of-4 from beyond the arc.

Senior forward Aaron Gibbs (Oberlin, Ohio) pulled down a game high seven rebounds and senior center Zak Kapron (Malvern, Ohio) had eight points and five rebounds.

The first six minutes were a back-and-forth, up-tempo affair, with Lake Erie grabbing a 12-9 lead. A triple by sophomore guard Zack Joseph (Lewis Center, Ohio) tied the score at 12-12, though the Panthers were unable to grab the lead. ODU trailed 25-22 with 5:38 to go on a bucket by Kapron via a nifty feed from Douglas, but Lake Erie (7-5, 2-3 GLIAC) closed the half with an 8-2 run and went into the locker room in front 33-24.

Lake Erie, which shot 53.8 percent (14-of-26) in the first half, kept up its torrid shooting as the Storm knocked down 15-of-23 (65.2 percent) after intermission. A deep three by Douglas and a layup by Jones kept ODU within six early in the half, but the Storm quickly extended its lead to double digits and would lead by as many as 22 points in the half.

The Panthers shot 46.9 percent (23-of-49) from the field, had a 30-23 advantage on the glass and made the most of Lake Erie's miscues, as ODU scored 20 points off Lake Erie's 10 turnovers. But the Panthers turned the ball over 17 times themselves and went to the charity stripe just eight times.

ODU (3-10, 0-8 GLIAC) has a non-conference matchup at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Salem International (W. Va.).
