COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio Dominican men's basketball team is looking to regroup after coming up on the losing end of a hard-fought game against third-ranked Findlay when the Panthers host Urbana in Alumni Hall at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The loss against Findlay dropped ODU's home record to 3-7 on the season. Despite outperforming Findlay in field goal percentage (41.8 percent to 32.8 percent) and limiting the Oilers to just 11.8 percent shooting from behind the arc, the Panthers were outrebounded 42-35 while committing 14 turnovers compared to Findlay's six. The Oilers were able to capitalize on these advantages, scoring 19 second-chance points and scoring 14 points off turnovers.
Leading the entire contest, Findlay seemed to be in firm control of the game as they built a 16-point lead at the 14:05 mark of the second half. ODU was able to rally back, though, scoring 24 points in the paint in the second half and cutting the deficit to as little as three points with 6:33 left in the game. The Panthers could draw no closer, though, as UF hit its free throws down the stretch.
Urbana enters this game with an overall record of 6-17, led in scoring by Robert Wilson, who is averaging 14.9 points per game. The Blue Knights are currently riding a two-game win streak, coming off a 71-58 win over Saginaw Valley State.
