COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio Dominican men's basketball team attempts to halt its four-game losing streak as the Panthers go on the road to take on GLIAC North Division foe Ashland at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
ODU's most recent outing was an 83-79 setback against Saginaw Valley State on Saturday, as the Cardinals were able to capitalize on 19 ODU turnovers while making 27-of-45 free throw attempts. ODU also out-rebounded Saginaw Valley 46-32 and scored 15 second chance points, but the effort was negated by the Cardinals' 22 points off turnovers. Ohio Dominican scored 49 second half points, its most in a half this season, but also yielded 47 as ODU could not complete a comeback.
The Panthers were led by Jake Mochoskay's first career double-double, as the junior set career-highs in both points (20) and rebounds (12). Morgan Jones scored 20 points, Zak Kapron tallied 11 points and eight rebounds, Aaron Gibbs finished with 10 points and nine rebounds, and John Trew added 10 points and two blocks.
Ashland enters the game with a record of 9-9 (3-8, GLIAC), and are led by Kale Richardson, who is averaging 14.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. The Eagles are coming off a 70-58 loss against No. 6 Findlay in their last contest, though Ashland did come from behind to defeat No. 21 Wayne State last Thursday.
