COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio Dominican men's basketball team looks to finish the 2010 calendar year with a win as the Panthers host Northern Michigan at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in Alumni Hall.
ODU's most recent outing was a 91-72 setback at the hands of the second-ranked Findlay Oilers on Saturday, Dec. 18. Findlay, the top-scoring team in the GLIAC, shot 53 percent from the field for the game (35-of-61), including 54.5 percent from three-point range (12-of-22). ODU also had its best shooting performance from the field this season, hitting 30-of-60 field goals while knocking down seven three-pointers, but the 91 points allowed were a season-high. It was the first time an opponent scored 90 points in a game since Georgetown (Ky.) College did so in a 91-57 victory on Nov. 12, 2009, a span of 34 games.
John Trew matched his season-high point production as he led the Panthers with 13 points. Joining him in double-figure scoring were Morgan Jones and Aaron Gibbs, who scored 12 points and 11 points, respectively.
Northern Michigan (5-5, 0-3 GLIAC) comes into the game on a two-game losing streak, dropping their most recent game 73-63 at home against Ferris State. The Wildcats are led in scoring and rebounding by center Jared Benson at 17.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.
