FINDLAY, Ohio – After leading through the early part of the first half, Ohio Dominican's men's basketball team couldn't survive a three-point barrage by host Findlay as the Panthers fell 91-72 in GLIAC South Division action Saturday at Croy Gymnasium.

The Panthers drop to 2-8 (0-5 GLIAC), while the second-ranked Oilers improved to 10-0 (4-0 GLIAC).

Findlay, the second-highest scoring team in the conference entering today, shot 53 percent from the field for the game (35-of-61), including 54.5 percent from three-point range (12-of-22). The Panthers had their best shooting performance from the field this season, hitting 30-of-60 field goals while knocking down seven three-pointers, but the 91 points allowed were a season-high.

ODU opened up its biggest lead at 23-18 just over nine minutes into the game after consecutive baskets by senior center Keith Jackson (Lima, Ohio), both coming off feeds from freshman guard Zack Joseph (Lewis Center, Ohio) driving to the hoop. But the Oilers answered with a 14-3 burst to open up a 32-26 lead, and the lead grew to 45-31 before junior guard Kip Kelley (Raleigh, Ohio) and Jackson hit jumpers to close the half.

The Oilers drained 8-of-12 three-pointers in the half and shot 54.8 percent for the frame (17-of-31) as a team. ODU shot 48.4 percent (15-of-31) and hit four three-pointers while also outscoring Findlay in the paint, 14-8.

Findlay opened the second half on an 18-6 run and led by as many as 24 points after intermission.

Leading the way for Ohio Dominican was junior guard John Trew (Barberton, Ohio), who hit 5-of-7 shots and matched a season-high with 13 points off the bench. Sophomore guard Morgan Jones (Oberlin, Ohio) scored 12, junior forward Aaron Gibbs (Oberlin, Ohio) added 11 and Kelley matched a career-high with five assists for ODU.

Four Oilers scored in double figures, led by Greg Kahlig's 22 points.

The Panthers are off for the holiday break and return to action at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30 when ODU welcomes in Northern Michigan for a GLIAC contest.
