COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican men's basketball team dropped their second straight game to a NAIA Division I ranked opponent on Thursday as they fell to No. 7 ranked Georgetown College, 91-57. With the win Georgetown 's head coach Happy Osborne earns his 400th career victory.
The Panthers, looking for a repeat performance from a year ago by knocking off the Tigers 82-80 on their home floor, came out aggressive in the first half. The Panthers controlled the tempo much like last season and held a slight advantage, 32-31 heading into the break.
It was all Georgetown in the second stanza as they erased ODU's first half lead with some sharp shooting as they connected on 24-of-38 shots for a whopping 63 percent from the field. The Tigers also hit 8-of-12 from behind the arc to earn their second victory of the season.
The Panthers were led by point guard Adriene Rodriguez (Sr./Lorian, OH; pictured) who finished the night with 11 points. Also scoring in double digits for ODU was junior Aaron Gibbs (Oberlin, OH), sophomore Zak Kapron (Malvern, OH) and senior Sonny Stattmiller (Columbus, OH) with 10 points apiece.
Leading the way for the Tigers was Vic Moses who scored a game high 27 points. Eddie Gray and Matt Walls chipped in with 14 apiece and Maurice Pearson added 13 for Georgetown .
ODU will return to action this Monday, November 16th as they travel to Ashland, Ohio to take on future GLIAC foe Ashland University. Tip-off between the Panthers and Eagles is set for 7:30 p.m.
