Football Adds Hunter, Ford To Coaching Staff

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican head football coach Kelly Cummings announced the hiring of Ramond Hunter and Bre' Ford to the coaching staff for the 2018 season.

Hunter joins the staff as the defensive line coach, while Ford will coach the defensive backs.

Hunter coached the defensive line last year at Missouri Valley College and also assisted with the special teams. Two of his linemen earned first team all-conference accolades. Previously, he helped coach defensive linemen, linebackers and special teams at his alma mater, Central Missouri. Hunter was a four-year starter and team captain at Central Missouri during his playing career, earning first team all-conference honors.

Ford played four years at the University of Akron, appearing in 39 games and making 14 starts. He also played professionally for the Wichita Falls Nighthawks of the Indoor Football League. Ford coached at his alma mater, Bethel Park High School, as well.

Ohio Dominican finished the 2017 season with a 7-3 record and won the G-MAC title. The Panthers will kick off the 2018 season at home at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30 against California (Pa.). The Panthers have a 58-20 record since 2011 (.744), winning a pair of conference titles and making two NCAA postseason appearances in that stretch.
