Stewart Inks Free Agent Deal With Detroit Lions

DETROIT – Former Ohio Dominican wide receiver Dez Stewart signed as a free agent with the Detroit Lions on Tuesday.

Stewart (2012-15) holds Ohio Dominican's career receiving record with 3,197 yards and is second in school history with 196 receptions and third with 25 touchdowns. He set ODU's career mark by averaging 16.3 yards per catch.

A 6-2, 200 pound wideout from Cincinnati, Stewart signed as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2016 and also has spent time in the Washington Redskins, Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers organizations.

Stewart was a Preseason All-American in 2015 and earned all-region accolades from D2CCA and Don Hansen following his senior season. He earned a total of four First Team All-GLIAC selections as well over his final three years at ODU, including three as a receiver and one as a returner.
