Football Opener At Ferris State Moved Up To Thursday, Sept. 1

2016 SCHEDULE

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican football team's season opener at Ferris State has been moved up to a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on Thursday, Sept. 1 in Big Rapids.

This marks the third time in the past four years that ODU will open up its season with a road Thursday night contest. The Panthers played at NAIA No. 6 Georgetown in 2013, winning 41-14 en route to a perfect regular season, and began last season on the road with a 59-21 Thursday night victory at Malone.

All-time, the Panthers are 3-0 on Thursday night games, having also defeated Findlay 41-21 on a Thursday night in 2013 in a game that aired on the CBS Sports Network.

This also marks the third straight time that Ohio Dominican will play Ferris State at Top Taggert Field. The Panthers visited Big Rapids on Nov. 29, 2014, earning a 46-33 win over the Bulldogs in the second round of the NCAA playoffs, and fell by a score of 38-17 there on Oct. 2017, 2015.
