Late Touchdown Lifts Black Team To Spring Game Win

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Austin Ernst (Cincinnati, Ohio) found Doryan Beach (Cincinnati, Ohio) in the back of the end zone for a five yard touchdown pass with 27 seconds left to give the Black team a 12-8 win over the Gold team in Ohio Dominican's annual spring game on Friday night.

The game started with a 72 yard touchdown run by Malachi Revercomb, a 10 year old who is a member of Team IMPACT. Malachi eluded the Black team's defense on his way to his first collegiate touchdown.

Evan Burig (Loveland, Ohio) made a pair of field goals for the Black team to account for the rest of their scoring, and the Gold team scored on a safety on an errant snap on a punt.

Jalen M. Christian (Dayton, Ohio) made eight tackles for the Black team, Demetrius Farmer (Dover, Ohio) tallied six tackles (3.0 TFL) and a pair of sacks, and Camren Moore (New Carlisle, Ohio) had five tackles and a sack as well.

Ross Thompson (Delphos, Ohio) led the Gold team with six tackles, while Tre McIntyre (North Lewisburg, Ohio), Cameron Kohl (Hilliard, Ohio) and Nick Isaacs (Cincinnati, Ohio) each tallied five stops. Isaacs had a sack and 2.5 tackles for loss and Kohl also had a sack with two tackles for loss.

Grant Russell (Newark, Ohio) threw for 139 yards for the Gold team and Ernst threw for 192 yards to lead the Black team.

Playing for the Gold, Cory Contini (Dover, Ohio) led all players with six grabs for 60 yards and Gold teammate Matt Petrella (Steubenville, Ohio) added three catches for 59 yards.

Ian Crawley (Medina, Ohio) led the Black team with five grabs for 53 yards. Derek Rieman (Columbus Grove, Ohio) had a 56 yard reception as well.
