Baseball Inks 12 During Early Signing Period

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's baseball team will welcome 12 new faces into the program for the 2019 season following the initial signing period this fall.

Under the direction of second year head coach Chris Antonides, ODU is coming off of a 25-24 record in 2017. The Panthers batted .324 as a team with 58 home runs and averaged 7.0 runs per game.

"We strongly believe that we secured not only the top talent in the Columbus region, but also throughout the state of Ohio," Antonides said. "I can't think our coaching staff enough for the tireless effort they put in to help make this class possible."

The incoming class will look to carry on from the upcoming graduating class of nine seniors, followed by a 15 member junior class at ODU.

"When we set out to build this class, we evaluated players who can make an immediate impact to help take us not just to the top of the G-MAC, but to also compete at the regional and national level," Antonides said. "We believe that we did that with these young men. We are not only excited about adding these student-athletes to the program due to their on-field capacity, but more importantly, we are ecstatic about the type of people and families that we are adding to Ohio Dominican University. Many of the young men have a strong background in the classroom as well as making an impact in the community, all values that we encourage our players to maintain throughout their time here at ODU."

The 2018 season will begin with a three-game series at Georgia Southwestern on Feb. 10-11.
