Baseball Suffers Setback to Lewis

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Ohio Dominican's baseball team fell to Lewis 13-0 in action Tuesday at the Russ Matt Central Florida Invitational.

ODU dropped to 2-7 on the season, while the Flyers improved to 4-0.

The game was scoreless through two and a half innings before Lewis sent 12 batters to the plate as part of an eight-run third inning to break the game open. The Flyers then tacked on five more tallies in the fourth inning.

Lewis had just eight hits in the game but took advantage of four ODU errors, five walks and three hit batsmen to take the victory.

Jossue Delagdo (Barinas, Venezuela), Kevin Lydic (Dublin, Ohio) and Dylan West (Westerville, Ohio) accounted for ODU's three hits in the contest, while Ryan Colegate (Centerville, Ohio) suffered the loss as he started and allowed five earned runs in three-plus innings of work.

The Panthers return to action at 3 p.m. Wednesday when ODU takes on West Virginia Wesleyan.
