COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Dominican's cross country team with travel to Wilmington College to compete in the Jenna Strong Fall Classic on Friday.
Competition schedule is as follows:
Women's 5k: 4:30 p.m.
Men's 8k: 5:30 p.m.
Awards Presentation: 6:15 p.m.
The men's cross country team will look to continue its momentum from the Lansing Invitational last week. The group was led by seniors Chad Ellis (Brook Park, Ohio) and Justin Carroll (Berea, Ohio), with Carroll running his second-fastest time of the season (27:43). Other notable performances were junior Alejandro Serna (Duncenville, TX) running a season best time of 27:58 and sophomores Alec Mueller (Minerva, Ohio) and Draven Bass (Circleville, Ohio) setting personal bests with runs of 29:52 and 33:51.
On the women's side, the squad looks to build from its strong showing at All-Ohio on September 29. The team was led by senior Jalyn Devereaux (Carroll, Ohio), who marked her second fastest 6k of the season with a time of 23:34.9. Other notables were junior Kristen Noecker (Circleville, Ohio) recording her second-fastest 6k time of this season with a run of 25:38.7, and senior Capria Hall (Zanesville, Ohio) finishing in 26:33.4.
Following the Jenna Strong Fall Classic, the Panthers will hit the course for the Great Midwest Championships at Percy Warner Park/ Vaughn's Gap Course in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday, October 21.
