PEPPER PIKE, Ohio — Ohio Dominican's women's soccer team dropped a 4-1 decision at Ursuline Wednesday afternoon in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference match.
The Panthers (9-4-1, 7-2-1 G-MAC) held a decisive 20-9 advantage in shots and a 12-8 edge in shots on goal.
Senior Lauren Bates (Hilliard, Ohio) notched her seventh goal of the season and freshman Samantha Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) recorded her third assist of the year, marking the third-straight match that Buck has either scored or assisted on a Panther goal.
ODU took an early 1-0 lead when Bates found the back of the net on an assist from Buck in the fourth minute. Ursuline answered with a penalty kick goal just 50 seconds later to tie the match at 1-1 and took a 2-1 lead in the 25th minute. Two more goals in the second half allowed the Arrows to earn the 4-1 victory, marking the most goals allowed by the Panthers since a September 18, 2016 defeat at national runner-up, Grand Valley State.
Ohio Dominican will look to bounce back on Saturday when it travels to Lake Erie to take on the Storm at 6 p.m.
