SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — With three top 15 placers, Ohio Dominican's women's golf team notched a fourth-place finish at The Pat Clouse Invitational at the Springfield Country Club on Sunday afternoon.
The Panthers finished with a two-day total team score of 650 (335-315) and ODU's second round score of 315 is the lowest round for the squad this season.
Sophomore Emma Romine (Marysville, Ohio) finished in a tie for fourth place out of 80 competitors with a total score of 157 (78-79), notching the second top five finish of her career. Romine tied a career-low round score of 78 in the first round Saturday and ended +13 for the tournament.
Also finishing in the top 10 of the field was sophomore Bailey Krueger (Canal Winchester, Ohio), who recorded a 159 (84-75) for the tournament and shot a career-low round of 75 on Sunday, the lowest round for a Panther since Erin Smiddy shot a 73 at the Capital Purple and White Spring Invite on April 9, 2017.
Placing in a tie for 14th was sophomore Abby Swensen (Milford, Ohio), who shot a 161 (86-75) that also included a career-low round of 75 Sunday. Swensen joins Krueger with the lowest rounds of the season for Ohio Dominican.
Sophomore Tori Jones (Ashland, Ohio) notched the best 36-hole score of her career with a 172 (89-83), while junior Kaylin Dill (Sedalia, Ohio) finished with her best tournament score of the year at 173 (87-86) to place in a tie for 35th overall.
Ohio Dominican wraps up the 2017 fall season on October 23 & 24 with the Music City Invitational at the Old Hickory Country Club in Nashville, Tennessee.
