Win Streak Halted As Women's Basketball Falls At Home To Findlay

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's women's basketball team dropped an 85-72 decision to visiting Findlay in G-MAC play Wednesday night in Alumni Hall.

The Oilers (8-1, 5-0) shot 60.6 percent in the first half to take a 50-37 lead and eventually stretched the lead to as much as 23 in the third quarter as ODU saw its five game winning streak snapped.

Seniors Sarah Futscher (Wilder, Ky.) and Darian Rose (Fort Loramie, Ohio) each scored 13 points and junior Emily Thomas (Pickerington, Ohio) added 12 off the bench to lead ODU. Sophomore Alexa Fisher (Powell, Ohio) had six assists and senior Megan Eyre (Fayetteville, Ohio) pulled down seven rebounds. Senior Devin Conley (Danville, Ky.) scored nine points off the bench as well.

Findlay used an 11-2 run late in the first quarter to grab a 22-14 lead, and a 14-5 run in the second quarter put the Oilers on top 50-33. The Panthers would not get closer than 12 points the rest of the contest.

ODU shot 46.6 percent (27-of-58) from the field for the game, compared to 52.5 percent (31-of-59) for Findlay. The Oilers also turned 18 ODU turnovers into 19 points and made 11-of-22 from behind the arc.

Ohio Dominican (6-3, 3-1 G-MAC) hits the road for a 1 p.m. contest Saturday at Hillsdale.
