COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's women's basketball team fell behind 10-0 and couldn't recover as the Panthers suffered a 75-59 setback to visiting Michigan Tech on Saturday in Alumni Hall.
The Huskies (6-2, 2-1 GLIAC) took a 48-27 lead into halftime after shooting 55.6 percent (20-of-36) in the opening 20 minutes, knocking down 8-of-17 threes (47.1 percent).
ODU (6-4, 2-2 GLIAC) went on an 8-0 run in the third quarter to draw within 54-45, and still trailed by nine (59-50) at the end of the third. However, the Huskies started the fourth on a 9-2 run to put the game out of reach.
Senior Lindsey Blanford (Xenia, Ohio) scored a career-high 15 points, hitting 6-of-8 shots, and senior Lauren Bates (Hilliard, Ohio) and junior Megan Eyre (Fayetteville, Ohio) each scored 11 points. Bates also led the team with six rebounds, four assists and two blocks.
Ohio Dominican will play at Wayne State at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
