The Ohio Dominican men's tennis team bounced back from a tough home loss on Wednesday afternoon, with a dominant 9-0 win over Lake Erie College on Friday.
The Panthers opened doubles play with quick leads in all three courts, extending leads on courts two and three, eventually taking 3-of-3 courts. Earning doubles points for ODU was Tyler Johnston (So./Wilmington, OH) and Carlos Perez (Sr./Miami, FL) on court one, 8-4, and Tito Bonadonna (Jr./Caracas, Venezuela) and Jeremy Mokry (So./Hilliard, OH) on court two, 8-1. Patrick Ohanian (Fr./Hudson, OH) and Gerardo Perez (Fr./Mexico City, Mexico) teamed for the first time this season, winning 8-2 in convincing fashion.
Ohio Dominican continued to roll in singles play, earning 6-of-6 courts, each in straight sets. Bonadonna and Johnston earned wins on courts one and two, 6-0, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-2, while Claude Badowski (Sr./Oundle, England) won on court three, 6-2, 6-2. Gerardo Perez earned another singles point for the Panthers, winning on court four, 6-2, 6-1 and Ohanian was dominant, winning 6-0, 6-0 at #5 singles. Brandon Taylor (Jr./Detroit, MI) filled out the ODU wins at #6 singles, winning his first collegiate match, 6-3, 6-0.
ODU will return to action on Friday, March 30 against Ferris State University. The GLIAC match, played in Big Rapids, MI will start at 3 p.m.
