COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Dominican's men's golf team will compete in its final tournament of the fall on Saturday and Sunday when it plays in the Cedarville Fall Invitational at the Country Club of the North in Beavercreek, Ohio.
The Country Club of the North is a Jack Nicklaus signature course with a par of 72.
ODU is coming off a top five finish at the OVU Highlands Cup Challenge on Sunday. The squad recorded a total score of 599 that included two of its lowest three rounds of the season at 298 and 301.
Junior Drew Wayman (Wapakoneta, Ohio) led the Panthers with a ninth place finish by way of a career-low tournament score of 147 and second round score of 71. Wayman leads Ohio Dominican in average round score this season at 76.5.
Sophomore Ryan Simi (Newark, Ohio) and freshman Jack Rubin (Hilliard, Ohio) are each averaging rounds under 78 and have accounted for three top 20 finishes this season for the Panthers. Rubin boasts the lowest round of the season for Ohio Dominican, shooting a 70 in the first round of the Great Midwest Fall Invitational at Findlay Country Club on September 18.
Also averaging under 80 per round this season are senior Ryan Thompson (Dunfermline, Scotland) and sophomore Blake Saffell (Somerset, Ohio), with Thompson shooting a 78.2 per round and Saffell at 79.1.
Ohio Dominican looks to finish the fall strong before breaking until the 2018 spring season.
